Resumo: The study presents the procedures for formatting, organization and evaluation of practical activities, known techniques, compulsory technical course in travel Tourism Guide, the subsequent mode of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul – Osório Campus, Brazil. Describes the professional profile and tasks of the tour guide, reports the organization, planning and implementation of technical trips conducted over two editions of this course, as well as the methodology of student assessment practices in the implementation of guidance activities. As methodological orientation of the research we chose to work with action research as it seeks to develop knowledge and understanding through practice. The Tour Guide is the professional responsible for monitoring, mentoring and providing information to individuals or groups on sightseeing and excursions urban, municipal, state, national and international. In Brazil Tourism Guide is a unique category among the tourism industry, which since 1986 has recognized profession being regulated by Federal Law in 1993.
