Resumo: The specialized guides are a key element in the tourism experience. The main objective was to analyze the main impacts of COVID-19 in this group and their perception in relation with the management of the crisis in the Galapagos Islands. This is a mixed exploratory analysis for which surveys were carried out, along with semi-structured interviews to stakeholders and guides. The main results determine that the guides were highly affected by the pandemic; however, they are essential for the touristic recovery as they are the link between tourists and destinations.
