Resumo: Tourism contributes to the environmental crisis, so the environmental values in the students of this discipline are important to reduce the problem. This work evaluates the environmental values in a sample of 152 university students in the Bay of Banderas, Mexico, with the scale of the New Ecological Paradigm (NPE). The average value was 3.77, which shows an ecocentric vision and whose improvement is not significant at higher levels, which implies a poor contribution of these programs in the formation of environmental values
