Resumo: Scientific interest in the analysis of sustainable tourism has gained ground in recent years. The study focused on analyzing the international scientific production on sustainable tourism collected in the ScienceDirect database from January 2000 to February 2024. Through bibliometric indicators and the use of VOSviewer software, the most relevant information and the prevailing trends in this field were visualized and mapped. This process allowed for the identification of seventy-nine clusters representing the primary areas of research, as well as the distinction of the main authors addressing the topic. Among the highlighted trends, there is a marked increase in the production of articles on sustainable tourism, especially in the field of social sciences. In particular, China stands out as the main generator of case studies in this area, emphasizing the importance of developing metrics to evaluate sustainability. Additionally, since 2020, the scientific production on sustainable tourism has incorporated the debate on climate change and the impacts of pandemics such as Covid-19.
