Resumo: The increase in visitors to protected areas has grown considerably, making it essential to improve the management and administration of these areas based on the needs for protection and conservation. This is especially important due to tourism dynamics, potential environmental impacts, and socio-environmental conflicts that may arise. This study analyzed the perceptions of local, national, and international visitors in the Balandra Protected Natural Area (ANPB), located in Baja California Sur, Mexico. For this, a survey based on the Likert scale was conducted, complemented by Kruskal-Wallis statistical analyses and Dunn's post hoc test. In addition, the opinions of stakeholders involved in conservation regarding the current situation and management of the area were considered. The results revealed significant differences in visitors' perceptions of management aspects, highlighting the need to improve communication and information provided about the permitted activities and the ANPB's context. Opportunities for improvement were also identified, particularly in managing the increase in visitors and the duration of their stay. Studying visitors' perceptions proved to be a key approach to identifying differences between the various groups and generating management recommendations. These recommendations can contribute to improving the management and conservation not only of the ANPB but also of other protected areas in local, regional, and international contexts.
