Resumo: Particularly, the roles historically assigned to women in society and ideas about the feminine determine the type of positions they occupy and the tasks women perform in tourist accommodation. In this sense, the aim is to identify how gender roles and gender stereotypes are manifested in the activities carried out by women working in some hotels in the Golden Zone of the city of Mazatlan, Sinaloa. Data collection consisted of applying 576 questionnaires to women who work for these tourism companies. One of the main manifestations of gender roles and stereotypes in these organizations is the high priority given to the assignment of tasks related to domestic and care work, such that positions such as housekeeper, cashier, waitress or desk clerk are a constant in the occupational trajectory of those who participated in this research. Physical stereotypes also emerge as conditions for accessing certain positions in the occupational pyramid.
