Resumo: The present work aims to highlight the knowledge developed on community tourism based on common goods. The methodology used was a documentary review, consisting of two phases: 1) a global analysis, and 2) publications in the Mexican context. It was found that the studies addressed focus on two perspectives: a) actors with the ability to organize themselves, and b) a lack of collective action leading to the tragedy of the commons. It is concluded that studies focused on this combination should be approached from a social and environmental preservation perspective.
