Resumo: In the eighth issue of the Journal of Tourism and Identity, volume 5 - number 1, we present two articles and a bibliographical review. The first article characterizes the motivations and conditions of mobility of tourists and national visitors in the Lakes District (Región de Los Lagos) in southern Chile; the Chilean authors use a quantitative perspective for the exploratory research. The second article proposes an update of the ten-year tourism development plan for the municipality of Barrancabermeja in Santander, Colombia; the methodology used in the research, by the Colombian author, contains a diagnosis with secondary sources and fieldwork that includes interaction with actors in the sector, interviews, workshops and a survey. The bibliographic review is about the book ‘Planificación turística I: Formulación. Reflexiones desde el oeste argentino'.
