Resumo: This study analyses the Honey Route in Cocentaina (Alicante, Spain), developed and operated by Camperola Tours as a form of alternative tourism. The methodology used combines heritage didactics, to educate and inform users, and connect them with the natural and cultural heritage of the area; agile action research, to collect data to help promote and protect the traditional craft of beekeeping and the environment; and a case study, to provide future tourism professionals with a model for assessing tourism routes and experiences for children. Viewed in the light of the current situation, the results show the benefits of extending the Honey Route and projects like it to offer tourists a unique experience that connects them with nature, history and tradition, and to create synergies within small inland towns and local areas in the province of Alicante for the preservation of local culture.
