Resumo: The aim of this study is to create a guide through the main tourist sites visited by Gertrude Bell between December 1st 1899 and June 14t 1900. In order to do so, it was necessary to conduct extensive research into the context surrounding this figure in order to understand a series of concepts, namely the travel possibilities of women travellers from earlier centuries; how photography and travel writing can become related to the tourism industry and ways of promotion; the potentiality of the route as a feasible product; Gertrude Bell’s life and travel personality. This involved the study of the letters and diary entries written by Gertrude Bell and the photographs she took during the aforementioned period, as well as the tourist and historical information about all the destinations of the route and expression of Gertrude Bell’s feelings and thoughts of them. The result was a cultural guide based on Gertrude Bell’s emotions in order to attract readers’ attention and appeal to their empathy, conferring a considerable degree of subjectivity to the route.
