Resumo: Tourism is a sector of the economy that grew strongly during 2019 internationally, in Colombia and in Puerto Nariño–(Amazonas), which leads to a contribution in greenhouse gas emissions (ghg). This study calculates the carbon footprint of the urban part of the municipality of Puerto Nariño, taking into account the activities of: urban waste disposal, use of propane gas, refrigerant gases, energy consumption and gasoline for engines. As a result, 2020.98 t (tons) of CO2 eq/year were obtained, which is equivalent to an ecological footprint of 3886.5 ha (hectares) or 19.43 times the area of its district. For this reason, energy consumption is the main activity that generates carbon dioxide, and the second is river transport.
