Resumo: The threat that climate change poses to ecosystems and human beings has led to the establishment of global agreements and policies to evaluate this phenomenon as a means of avoiding or minimizing its negative effects. Some tourist destinations have already experienced part of those changes and the effects they have on the quality of the touristic experience. Paradoxically, some of these effects have been exasperated by the same tourist activities; therefore, it is a priority to understand the relationship between tourism and climate change, and, in this way, the destinations can better identify these and seek to maintain the physical and climatic conditions of the territory. Hence, this research aims both to analyze what has been the impact of climate change in the departments as well as identifying the mitigation strategies that are in place to protect and strengthen these destinations, furthermore, to identify how the foregoing has resulted in making these regions more competitive.
