Resumo: As one of the management strategies for sustainable tourism destinations, estimating carrying capacity provides with useful information for decision-makers, preventing negative impacts. This study implement Cifuentes (1992) methodology in Puerto Nariño, a destination in Colombian Amazon area, that is committed with sustainability. The study results onpriority tourism attractions and access routes,allows designing and redesigning routes according to these reference limits preventingnegative impacts. Recommendations werealso made to increase management capacity, tourist satisfaction, and at the same time reduce potential conflicts with the host community.
