Resumo: This paper approach to the study of the relationship between tourism and pilgrimage, based on the interpretation that the pilgrims of the Portuguese Inner Way of Santiago de Compostela give their experience. Based on an anthropological fieldwork research developed since September of the year 2015, we analyze the recent process of patrimonial and tourist activation of a new route of the roads to Santiago de Compostela, the tourist consumption of this route as an expression of new contemporary values, and the configuration of new post-secular tourist pilgrimage identities, that can not be classified or interpreted simplistically as religious tourism.
