Resumo: Since the nineties, Spain has been experiencing the latest stage of a type of tourism that has developed and expanded through what has been known as inland tourism. Within this category, rural tourism and its different phases that have developed under the LEADER programmes particularly stand out.Castilla-La Mancha has experienced a significant generation of wealth and employment throughout this development, going from being a stopover region to a tourist destination. Recent publications allow us to take stock of the general situation as well as to delve deeper into patrimonial heritage.
