Resumo: The intangible cultural heritage is an element of the territory that still has not been sufficiently treated by the Social and Cultural Geography. Not only is it a tourist resource, but also a fundamental factor of identity and sociability. Because of its great vulnerability, urgent measures of protection are necessary to preserve cultural diversity in a globalized world. Because of this the UNESCO proclaimed several intangible elements as World Heritage of the Humanity. New forms of tourism have emerged, as a result of the interest in some intangible heritages, apart from the traditional ethnic tourism, like the esoteric and new age tourisms.
