Resumo: In this article we analyze the evolution of the business structure of the hospitality sector in Ibiza and Formentera between 1960 and 2000 using the Industrial Economy’s own methods. The first objective is to verify whether oligopolistic structures appeared during this period or whether they have maintained a high level of initial competition. The conclusion is that for the majority of the forty years considered, the sector has grown at an immense rate while maintaining a competitive and open structure.
