Coronary heart disease can manifest itself as many well-described clinical syndromes such as angina and myocardial infarction. There are a number of factors, so-called coronary heart disease risk factors: hypertension, hipercholesterolemia, diabetes mellitus and smoking, that increases the probability of ischemic heart disease. In this article I review the cardiovascular risk factors, both primary and secondary prevention of coronary artery disease, and I conclude that both forms of prevention can afford tourism.
