Resumo: The necessities observed in the tourist sector, regarding the current preferences of the demand, have motivated the appearance of new tourist products whose main base is sustained more or less in the appraisement of our ancestors heritage. However, this tendency should not constitute an excuse to incur in the wrong use of this wealth and in the face of the fear of its deterioration or even destruction must be implemented policies that allow to maintain the balance between the conservation and the use and enjoyment of the heritage.
This work collects the initiatives that have been developing for decades to safeguard and to put in value the heritage; its relationship with the tourist activity and the state of the question in the Region of Murcia.
