Resumo: In the majority of Spanish rural areas, rural tourism has become one of the most important economics activitie in the last decade. In the course of this activity the increase in demand for rural lodging has been crucial. However, there is a surprising lack of research on the profile of the rural visitor. As a result, the major emphasis in this study is on identifying the profile of the rural visitors who are most likely to choose one of five defined rural areas in the Northwest regions of Murcia. The probability is calculated using the multinomial logit model.
