Resumo: This article presents an approach to the situation of Training for Tourism in Andalusia. It starts off from an overview of the situation at a national level, bearing in mind the importance that human resources training continues to have in tourism companies. It then broaches the local level and also analyses the Tourism Training situation in two particular areas: the Doñana area where new tourism employment is being created, and the Costa del Sol where the «old-style» jobs rub shoulders with new touristic employment.
A long history and a promising future are provided by the data we have available on these activities developed in the Tourism Schools, the Hotel Training Schools, the Catering Schools, and in the Andalusian Universities, etc. These all provide an infrastructure of Centres that offer more and more offers of realistic and appropriate training in order to meet the demand from the companies from the Andalusian touristic sector.
