Resumo: This article describes the situation of rural tourism in Spain, especially in Catalonia and Galicia. It is focused on the new leisure and tourism uses of rural spaces, an aspect which is changing and diversifying the rural economies. Related to this, it is described how local inhabitants perceive and «reperceive» their heritage, their landscapes and their places from the new views of rural territories.
