Resumo: Although tourism economic research has progressed deeply during the last years, the review of the literature highlights a clear tendency on focusing the analysis of the tourist market from the demand point of view. The present study presents an alternative vision centring the analysis on the supply side, identifying specialization strategies and differentiation of product for the case of the Balearic hotel sector, and using multivariate analysis techniques.
