Resumo: Although the tourist activity is based on the landscape and regards it as a valuable tourism resource, studies that address the landscape and its link with tourism are scarce in Argentina. In order to generate a new contribution, the aim of this paper is to analyse the quality of the landscape by identifying and assessing parameters and interactions that make the lake areas of the Argentine Pampas unique; it is a sector that integrates a consolidated tourist area, a corridor and an area for potential tourism use. The results allow us to infer that the area analysed has a high level of landscape quality although there is no evidence of it being enhanced as a tourist resource. These results allow us to advance in the study of a region of great environmental, economic and social value, and in which the incorporation of the landscape as a tourist resource could be considered, not only as a diversification strategy to contribute to the positioning of the region as tourist destination, but also as a strategy aimed at its preservation.
