Resumo: The growing interest in industrial tourism is consonant with the general trend that characterizes contemporary tourism models. This trend consists in the diffusion of tourism in places and spaces that, until recently, were excluded from the tourist market and ignored by visitors.Industrial tourism comprises a wide range of activities and this reflection intends to analyze how tourism can transform the places of industrial production into spaces of tourist interest in a coherent way, satisfying the trends of contemporary tourism and the expectations of the tourists. We understand that the touristic value of a company should not be confined to private assets as it can bring benefits to all actors in a region or country. This allows companies to create wealth, having a multiplier effect throughout the territory and can have its educational role recognized and complementary in the training of students.
