Resumo: This paper pretends to discuss the evolution of the airport sector in the last years, mainly the changes in their relations with the destination stakeholders. This change in airport’s positioning led to a pro-active attitude based in an integrated knowledge management approach. In this paper is presented a new model concerning the integrated knowledge management, the EGIC matrix, in relation with the airport’s evolution model. As example we discuss the case of residential tourism as a new market tourism segment, which is poorly investigated in academic field.
