Resumo: In an Era where communication supported by technology has established itself as a crucial component in several activities, included in the daily routines of millions of people, it is important to analyse the type of influence that it has in the e-tourism field. If on one hand, technology is recognized as a structural element of the e-tourism concept, on the other hand, it is importante to study it from the perspective that includes tourist empowerment as an active and participative user in an ecosystem of technology and human variables. This paper presents some thoughts regarding on the role of the user as a prosumer of content and services, active member on network communities which share their interests and inter-influence each other in various moments of their tourist experience, and also the way that ubiquitous technology is changing form, place and time of interaction with content and services linked to tourism.
