Resumo: The importance of theme parks in the scope of tourism is increasing. However the competitiveness of these tourism attractions depends on several factors. Despite the relevance of theme parks, the research about these parks has been focused on a limited set of success factors of these attractions. The present paper aims to address some limitations of the research that currently exists, through a literature review, to identify a wide group of theme parks’ success factors and discuss the relevance of these factors. The analysis carried out in this paper indicates that the competitiveness of theme parks depends on features related to the atmosphere, staff, ability to create emotions, theme, price, attractions, promotion, restaurants, technology, shops, security, accommodation and innovation. This paper provides important information so that the managers of the theme parks can increase the competitiveness of these tourism attractions.
