Resumo: This article aims to present the receptive tourism in the cities of Ilhéus and Itacaré. To this end, we evaluated the information on the profile and characteristics of the tourists’ travel. Data were obtained through a search of exploratory nature and the results indicate that in both cities the vast majority of tourists were Brazilians, being Baianos the majority in Ilhéus and Paulistas were most representatives in Itacaré, except in November. In Ilhéus, most stayed at home of relatives and friends, whereas in Itacaré, was more in hostels. In both destinations, there was an inverse relationship between the average stay and average cost of travel. It is expected that the results subsidize policies for the development of the sector.
