Resumo: In the present text, we discussed the anthropological perspectives of tourism in Kuna Yala, a Panamanian indigenous area with political autonomy that control their tourist development model. After we define ethnic tourism and put the case kuna in their context, we are comparing and linking different anthropological analyses carried out since the 1970s, that are being a theoretical support in the course of our research.
