Resumo: The gender bias is not current or cyclical but a structural practice enshrined for centuries, so it is necessary a historical analysis about it, so that does not confuse its causes with its effects. The article presents a historical perspective that allows us to understand and explain the structural aspects of the prejudices against women, since its origin. Thus, the roots of these prejudices are presented and analysed in terms mythological, symbolic, religious and philosophical. The Tourism area should be attentive to primitive obscurantism, not to emphasize the vulnerabilities that prejudice can bring to ethnic and sexual minorities, women and children.
