Resumo: The Integrated Administration of Tourist Destinations (GID) comes to be a necessary condition to be able to give a very relevant answer to the current tendencies of the tourism development and behavior of the proper demand from the movement of fordista phase to the postfordista of the tourism and the difficult environment generated by the globalization, imposing new challenges to the traditional Sun and Beach destinations, having to establish regionalization strategies, supplies diversification, new dynamics in the relationship public-private sector and new planning and environmental administration approaches, being the GID the adopted tool to reach it, in such way that they are able to satisfy the expectations from the markets segments to which the offer is aimed, while a responsible tourism, that contributes to sustainability is developed. The practice has demonstrated that the absence of an appropriate administration leads to decline or obsolescence symptoms even in relatively early stages of life and that are limited to take advantage of their comparative advantages starting from the resources they possess and to develop competitive advantages that contribute to the positioning of it, what is demonstrated in this work throughout a study case of a destination with these characteristics.
