Resumo: Cultural and religious tourism is nowadays a crucial issue with a pertinent role in economy, particularly in cities and places where the presence of religious patrimony is associated with relevant faith and religious practices. In Portugal, the city of Braga presents one of the best examples of a close relation between cultural and religious phenomena and the development of touristic activities. Though, Santiago de Compostela is a unique example and an icon of a cultural city per excellence. These features are mainly supported by the value of its historical patrimony, linked to Santiago’s Roads and to the Apostle’s religious cult with the peak in the years of “Xacobeo.” Based on the empiric data obtained through enquiries, questionnaires and interviews, we discuss the importance of the cultural and religious tourism in the cities of Braga and Santiago de Compostela. Our study aims to present a product of cultural and religious tourism, between the cities of Braga and Santiago de Compostela.
