Resumo: The present article aims to discuss the themes of tourism and cultural heritage. More precisely, it reflects on the way tourism presents cultural heritage. The issue of how to promote cultural heritage in Portugal is discussed while considering the specific case of the Clérigos architectural ensemble. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, a set of tourist information guides are analysed to perceive how they ‘see’ and ‘offer’ this cultural heritage. The work is divided into two parts: the first identifies the aspects relative to the Clérigos architectural ensemble found in the analysed tourist information guides and the second presents a set of reflections regarding their specific content and rises the question of how tourism presents cultural heritage.
