Resumo: Arising from a growing international presence, Brazil becomes host to several world events, which will help to increase the supply of housing units that can receive guests that strive for sustainability of natural resources. Thus, it is necessary to set the parameters and measurement systems for the adoption degree of sustainability concepts by hotel establishments in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The general objective of this research is to analyze the adherence to the green hotel concept by companies and identify sustainable practices and the use of clean technology by managers and guests of an enterprise located in the south of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Also, through a qualitative research and the use of the case study technique, it was confirmed the hypothesis that the use of new technologies in the hospitality segment can reduce the impacts of the tourism activity on the environment, providing behavioral changes reflected in tourists.
