Resumo: If Tourism is a universal right, then it must be for all including people with disabilities. Accessible Tourism is a complex definition, which is not only limited to people with disabilities but to people who still do not find its significance nowadays in Portugal. A disabled tourist has specific and complex needs that requires any tourism destination to reorganize and requalify the services offered within common tourist provisions. This can be obtained through the effective application of the systemic approach in the task of making tourism more accessible. The municipality of Lousã, with its tradition and through the involvement of various actors, as a joint initiative, managed to make the destination more accessible, an excellent example of improving tourism services in Portugal.
