Resumo: In its company visits aspect, industrial tourism offers a formula for innovation that facilitates the diversification for its basic or traditional activities in order to enter new markets and generate synergies. Likewise, it provides a mechanism that various public and private organizations can use to enhance the industrial heritage of a destination, thereby enhancing its appeal for both residents and potential visitors. In the current crisis, the improvement of the tourist attraction of a destination or the achievement of extra revenues for companies intensifying their customers’ loyalty through the disclosure of its know-how and the direct experimentation of their products and services become business opportunities. These opportunities have been taken by territories and companies in a number of countries. From 2009 AENOR and ICTE have been working in the development of a quality standard that allows certify industrial tourism activities in Spain, both in its aspect of living industry or industrial heritage. Recently, these projects have been completed and the document entitled PNE 302001 has been issued and it must become a standard UNE soon. It contains the minimum requirements of certification, but, in addition, the future standard also offers a model of management of quality for industrial tourism activities. Our work is focused on discussing and reflecting on the great lines that guide the PNE 302001 and in the description of the underlying management model.
