Resumo: In the 20th century death was considered taboo, frightening and uncontrolled. Nowadays something changed. We now look as tourist attractions sites which relate to death, such as war memorials, war museums, battle fields, prison camps, cemeteries.In Portugal Cemetery Tourism is beginning to attract people. Historic Cemeteries are classified as National Heritage, Municipalities take good care of them, endowing them with infrastructures and guided tours become common.Cemeterial Tourism has been considered a branch of Black Tourism. But the motivations that bring visitors to those places point to another reality, as we will try to demonstrate.
