Resumo: The relationship between tourism and heritage is important, diverse and complex. It is certain that tourism depends on heritage to structuralize its offer, but there is a repaying in the form of an increase of visibility and income.The aim of this paper is to promote a discussion about some aspects related with this matter, such as: different concepts of heritage and reasons for its increasing valuation; attitudes in the management of heritage; tourists exploitations of the corporeal and incorporeal heritage; criteria for the tourist recognition of heritage; standardization and differentiation in the models of showing heritage.
