Resumo: The paper is to present the experience of the extension project Ways of Osório - city tours conducted by Campus Osório, Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, aiming to enhance the story, cultural events and attractions of the city of Osório; through hiking oriented by students of the course of Tourism Guide. Two moments stand out in the project construction. Formatting of screenplays historical research was conducted to study the local memory, using the method of oral history, based on the theoretical frameworks of memory and the local tourism inventory. As results were structured two tourist routes: historic center, with the aim of presenting the origin of the major central city and its architectural representations and Lake Navigation, which aims to present the history of navigation in the region. The project evaluation included the analysis of two audiences: executors students, during which the scripts were already conducting their observations and alter the processes immediately, and evaluation of tourists, carried out by research instrument. Overall, the feedback was positive, as satisfaction with screenplays by tourists, being replicated and held for two years project. It should be emphasized that the completion of practical activities throughout the course allows the student the experience of working effectively with the preservation of history and memory locations, and live an experience of work, based on historical knowledge produced collectively.
