Patrimonio cultural inmaterial como herramienta de conservación y atracción turística sustentable en el Área Natural Protegida Sierra de lobos, Guanajuato
Resumo: The work for biodiversity conservation in Mexico is related to the creation and development of protected natural areas (PNAs), which constitute a strategy and political-environmental instrument for the integral preservation of the country’s bio-cultural heritage. In this article, the main objective is to reveal the potential of the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) as a tool to encourage and enhance the conservation of the PNA Sierra de Lobos in Guanajuato. To obtain the values for this study, the ICH was characterized from the theoretical category of knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe: cultural and spiritual values, traditional ecological knowledge, and customs, through the observation method, data collection, and system analysis. The findings show that the biocultural value is manifested using the landscape, the flora and the fauna for the elaboration and use of traditional medicinal remedies, also as food for local consumption; community restoration and reforestation programs; sustainable forest management; festivities and religious pilgrimage; and landscaping valuation. This knowledge can be the object of tourism use with a sustainable approach to safeguard it, to empower the community, and improve the management of the ANP and its conservation.
