Resumo: Usability refers to the ease of using a website, allowing users to perform actions in a simple way and contributing to a satisfactory navigation. In this sense, it facilitates the creation and transmission of an ideal online image of the tourist destination, thus achieving tourist loyalty. The purpose of this research is to analyze the usability of European tourist cities' websites, in order to identify the elements that influence the user experience and to establish a guide of good practices that can help in the design of usable websites. To achieve these goals, a mixed methodology is applied, using tools such as literature review, Nielsen heuristics, Website Grader and a questionnaire to 10 experts in the field. The results identify the positive elements and the most common errors presented by these websites and highlight the relationship between objective and subjective factors in usability; although technical aspects are important, user experience and satisfaction are fundamental in the measurement of usability. In addition, it is concluded that there is a relationship between the volume of tourists and the resources dedicated to usability maintenance.
