Resumo: The aim of this paper is to analyze a university extension initiative as a strategy for the (re)valorization of tourism heritage in a small rural town in Buenos Aires province (Argentina). The methodology is based on action research, with a qualitative-quantitative approach. It is characterized by the search for answers and solutions to specific problematic situations. As a result, a case of good practices of transfer to the environment by the higher education institution is evidenced. From the articulated work between governmental and non-governmental actors, a tourist-recreational proposal that makes visible heritage, histories and representative identities for the locals has materialized.
