Resumo: Rural tourism is related to sustainability due to rural areas that imply respect and care for nature and the environment, in addition to attracting visitors and obtaining income for communities, generating jobs for the development of localities or places where tourists carry out recreational activities linked to the environment for knowledge, conservation and dissemination of the natural and cultural heritage of the area. The objective of this work was to analyze the sustainable development of the areas of Agua Blanca in Tabasco, Agua Azul in Chiapas, and Hierve el Agua in Oaxaca. A qualitative descriptive methodology with an exploratory scope was used. As a result, it was obtained that the places analyzed, although they represent important sustainable areas for local and national tourism development, require greater dissemination, advertising, and technology.
