Resumo: The state of Tabasco has significant untapped tourist potential, despite its cultural diversity and natural richness. The objective of this work is to analyze tourist destinations and their impact on the local economy, focusing on identifying new opportunities to boost economic development, especially in the municipality of Teapa, Tabasco, recently designated as a Magical Town by the Mexican Ministry of Tourism. An analysis of the town's tourist wealth is proposed, along with recommendations for strategies to stimulate the local economy and improve quality of life. The tourist destinations of the municipality will be highlighted. The methodology will be qualitative and observational, supported by a literary review of specialized journals and books to understand the importance of this sector in local economic development. The study aims to assess the competitiveness of the tourist sector and propose the implementation of appropriate public policies, financing programs, advertising, and improvements in road infrastructure, aiming to positively impact the economy of the Magical Town and the lives of its citizens.
