Resumo: The tourism sector has become in recent times an activity of great relevance for the economy of many countries, which is why it has seen the need to transform, as a result of technological advances and changes in tastes, needs and tourist preferences. The factors that determine the competitiveness of tourist destinations have multiplied and as a strategy to the need for growth and in turn to seek the sustainability of this important sector of the economy, different tourism models have been implemented such as 'Creative Tourism'. The objective of this article is to review the literature, in order to highlight the factors that intervene in the search for the diversification of tourism, seeking the sustainability of the activity.
