Resumo: The aim is to elucidate the differences and similarities between the concepts of touristification and gentrification. Although both have similar particularities, their origin and expressions exhibit substantial differences that condition the analysis and approach to the reality of a tourist destination. As a result, it can be seen that they are two different phenomena, which can coexist in a destination, but their causes and consequences are different: while in one case the gentrifying agent is a resident with a higher economic level, in the other case it is mainly the tourist, where the analysis of habitus marks a strategic point of differentiation in the conception of these phenomena.
