Resumo: ABSTRACT: This article analyzes the formative and identity construction of teachers in graduate courses stricto sensu in tourism, hospitality and related areas in Brazil. Through descriptive-exploratory, bibliographic and documentary research, 21 courses (1997-2021) currently active with 245 teachers were identified. The importance of continuous postgraduate training and professional qualification in teaching is highlighted, with special emphasis on ANPTUR interdisciplinary frameworks. The evolution of postgraduate courses stricto sensu in these areas of knowledge points to the need for faculty improvement in the areas of teaching and research, as a means of ensuring interdisciplinary training and academic inclusion. By tracing the evolution of these courses, the study reveals perspectives for the academic community by delineating the fundamental role of graduate teaching as a form of knowledge construction and reinforces the continuing education of faculty in tourism, ensuring interdisciplinary training and academic inclusion.
