Resumo: RESUMO: O presente trabalho teve como objetivo geral estudar a qualificação dos recursos humanos com relação à língua inglesa na hotelaria de Mossoró/RN a partir do seguinte problema de pesquisa: os profissionais atuantes no setor hoteleiro da cidade estão qualificados para recepcionar o público estrangeiro a partir do conhecimento e uso do inglês? Para tal aquisição, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica e de campo por meio da leitura de trabalhos acadêmicos e científicos para embasamento do tema e realização de entrevistas a partir de roteiro semi-estruturado. Os resultados constatados por meio da pesquisa foram de que a realidade ainda está aquém do esperado com relação à qualificação profissional, pois os hotéis não possuem uma quantidade suficiente de profissionais bilíngues que supra a necessidade comunicacional. ABSTRACT: The present study had the general objective of studying the qualification of the human resources related to the english language in hotel business in the city of Mossoró from the following search problem: the professionals working in the hotel business at the city are qualified to welcome foreign visitors based on their knowledge and use of english? For such acquisition, a bibliographical and field research was carried out through the reading of academic and scientific works to base the theme, conducting interviews from a semi-structured script. The results found through the research were that reality is still below expectations regarding professional qualification, as hotels do not have a sufficient number of bilingual professionals to fill in the communication needs.
