Resumo: Social interest in spiritual tourism has grown significantly in recent years in Western societies, given the need to escape from environments and socioeconomic dynamics based on uncertainty or stress. Thus, this article aims to lay the foundations to extend the practice of spiritual tourism in spaces with depopulation problems in the interior of Spain. For this, case study of the singular chapel of San Baudelio de Berlanga (Soria) is exposed, which is presented as a key attraction in the development of this tourist typology. After exploring the case study, the existence of notable positive synergies between the development of sustainable spiritual tourism and the need to act against the depopulation of these spaces to avoid their complete abandonment are established.
